10 WAYS TO LOVE YOURSELF MORE

Our relationship with ourselves affects how we think, act and relate with others throughout our lives. The concept of self-love is sometimes viewed as selfish or misunderstood. The science of love reveals that the higher levels of love hormone that we have circulating in our bloodstream, the healthier is our ability to digest, focus, grow, fight infections and heal. We can add self-love enhancing practices throughout our day to benefit our selves and everyone we come in contact with! Our levels of love hormone affect everyone around us, and the person with the higher levels, raises other people’s love levels to higher. 'Be The Change You Want To See' really works!

Strengthening our inner relationship empowers us and makes us feel more joyful and centered. People can feel it when you are drained and depleted and when you are full of joy and love.

Try these 10 simple self-love practices throughout your day, and notice how happier, healthier and calmer you feel, and the people around you!
1. Morning Wake Up: Lay on your back in a comfortable position. Bring your arms out like a T. This posture helps to lengthen the chest muscles that become tight from our modern lifestyle. Turn your palms up and feel grateful for who you are, exactly as you are. Sometimes we wait to lose an extra 10 pounds and then we are happier with ourselves. Be content with who you are just as you are right NOW. Self-acceptance is so healthy for us, and we can accept others much easier when we are able to accept ourselves.
2. Breathe In Love To The Fullest: Stand up out of bed and reach your arms overhead. Take the DEEPEST, FULLEST Breath possible for you. Imagine the sun shining over you and filling you up with its energy, life force and vitality. Take in the oxygen to maximum capacity in your lungs. Feel the expansiveness and aliveness that is your true nature as you turn up the corners of your lips and put on a BIG smile!
3. Love Your Body Morning Shower: Take a very mindful and conscious morning shower. As you bathe your body, feel grateful for your body and it’s multitude of functions. Feel grateful for your whole being, just because you are YOU! Deepen your awareness of how great it feels to have warm water washing over your body.
4. Self-Massage and conscious, nurturing touch: Touch your whole body with a loving intention and gratitude. Notice how you feel when you touch certain parts compared to others. Sometimes for example, we feel uncomfortable touching our tummy or thighs. Love all the parts of your body equally as they are all equally important and vital. Witness how your body feels from your nurturing touch.
5. Practice being sensual: Notice how you feel through your five senses throughout your day. This helps to bring your mind to focus on the present moment and heightens your sense of pleasure. A gift for yourself!
6. Smile! A smile causes you to release happy hormones that calm and relax you. Smile at yourself in the mirror, smile at others, make eye contact and notice how this helps to keep you energized!
7. Mindful Meals: Practice presence during every meal throughout your day. Turn off the cell phone and TV while you eat. Experience the food and feel grateful for it and your body
8. Healthy Posture throughout the day: Keep your posture as neutral as possible throughout your day, avoid slouching as this causes stress in our body-mind.
9. Practice forgiveness: Forgiveness is a way of releasing the heaviness of the past. The more we forgive ourselves and others, the lighter and more loving we feel.
10. Gratitude walk: As you walk from place to place and errand to errand, walk with an awareness of gratitude wherever you go.
